EBC "X" and "XC" Series Fully Floating Front Rotor Ultra lightweight EBC X series floating front rotors for sportbikes and road racers are now available. The new rotors feature EBC's unique and patented S-Drive button system (click here for more details) which features square sided rivets captured in square drive pockets on the rotor and hub which allow the outer rotor blade to expand and contract freely under the heat of braking without suffering rivet lock. Rivet lock is the term used when rotors heat up under heavy braking and the rotor blade contacts the (normally circular) rivets that separate the inner rotor hub and the outer rotor blade. The new EBC system completely eliminates this problem area which causes 100% of the failures of rotors suffering from distortion and brake vibration. The steel used in the new EBC rotor blades is also a special stainless blend with higher friction effect than normal heat treated stainless steel found on stock discs and boasts up to 10% improvement in friction effect improving brakes even further. Weight of the new X and XC series is then reduced by another 5-10% by using a 6 only button drive system on a lightweight alloy centre hub, which once again grabs the lead over stock parts. This cannot be switched to the lighter 6 button system on alloy hubs because they are still stuck in a rut using circular rivets. Circular rivets demand more contact points to get the same geometric centralisation and still avoid generating slack in the drive direction because, being circles inside circles they only offer point contact. The SD system employs LINE contact and as such rotor blades are much more positively retained about the centre hub and never go slack in the drive direction even after abuse. |

EBC Custom Rotors for Naked Bikes This range of high luster brake rotors features stainless steel brake rotor rings/blades and a polished and heat lacquered alloy centre. The heat lacquered center does not lose its luster and no attempt should be made to polish the center hub which will destroy the lacquer coating. All units feature the contoured profile and slotted rotor profile as shown opposite which greatly improves pad break-in and reduces rotor damage (rotor galling). These rotors feature EBC's unique and patented S-Drive button system (click here for more details) |

EBC Sport Replacement MX Brake Rotors Size for size replacement of original rotors, the EBC moto-x range rotors are made from heat treated carbon steel that is then tempered back to optimum hardness to maintain good friction level but resist cracking and wear. Over hard rotors are prone to cracking, especially when immersed in water on cross country enduro riding. EBC rotors come in two choices of either full circle discs or new lighter weight contoured profile. Full circle design - suffix "D" (example MD6001D) Contoured Profile - suffix "C" (example MD6001C) Benefits of the contoured profile rotor include lighter weight, better self-cleaning characteristic, and better heat gradient between the inside and outside of the rotor improving brake response. |

EBC Rear Solid Full Circle and Contour Design Rotors With contoured profile to reduce weight, rear versions of this new programme are made in HPSR steel and zinc plated to avoid corrosion. The latest EBC contour PLUS rotors are made with special stainless steel and new lightweight profile and feature the new scraper slot system which has proved to be so successful in preventing early life rotor damage when bedding in new brakes. The scraper slots remove any loose particles/debris as the pads bed in during early life after fitment and prevent rotor scoring. |
